Since I'm sort of a computer-"freak" I'll show off my little HomeLAN ;-)
My main-PC consist of this stuff:
- Midi-Tower, Silent Edition (noise insulated) ATX 300W
- SOYO KT333 Dragon Ultra (slight overkill ;-)) w/ LAN/Sound on board
- AMD Athlon XP 1900+ (1600 MHz)
- 512 MB DDR SDRAM PC 266 CL2 Infineon/Infineon
- Leadtek WinFast Titanium 200 GeForce 3 128 MB DDR RAM
- IBM IC35L080 AVVA harddisk 80 Gbyte
- IBM IC35L060 harddisk 60 Gbyte
- IBM IC35L100 AVVA07 harddisk 100 Gbyte
- IBM DJNA 371800 harddisk 18 Gbyte
- IBM IC35L080 AVVA harddisk 80 Gbyte
- Plextor PXW-4824A CD ReWriter
- LG FLATRON 795 FT plus (17") Monitor (plane tube, EXTREMELY recommendable)
My secondary:
- Midi Tower ATX 300W
- NMC Slot A Mainboard
- AMD K7 Athlon 600 MHz
- 256 MB SDRAM PC 133 (133 MHz)
- Creative Annihilator PRO GeForce 256, 32 MB DDR RAM (had to change the cooling fan)
- IBM DTTA 371010 harddisk 10 Gbyte
- Creative Labs Soundblaster AWE 64 GOLD
- VIA OnBoard PCI sound (downside are the very low dynamics)
- TEAC 3,5" Diskettenlaufwerk
- RealTek RTL8139 100Mbit NIC
- Epson Stylus Color 740
- USB 2a/b ISDN Adapter (PCI would've been better)
Since my USB ISDN hardware added lots of latency, I chose to connect to the internet via a Linux router,
which runs a Webserver for the sites www.kontraproduktiv.yi.org
and www.deelkar.yi.org:
- AOpen Tower ATX 300W
- Super Sockel7 Mainboard
- AMD K6-2 400 MHz
- 128 MB SDRAM PC 100
- Miro Crystal VRX (Rendition Verite 1000) graphics board (just used for text console)
- Conner CP30104H harddisk 120MB (/boot)
- IBM DHEA 38451 harddisk 8,4 GB (/)
- 2x RealTek RTL8139 100Mbit NICs
- AVM Fritz!Card PCI
- no mouse, no sound
connectivity is provided by a 100 MBit 8port switch. (why bother with a simple hub? I want full duplex! ;-))
last, but not least, my notebook (by Aldi):
- FIC A555 Notebook
- Mobile PIII 1GHz
- 256 MB SDRAM
- ATI Mobile M1, mit 8MB RAM (not shared)
- 14.1" TFT
- HITACHI DK23CA-20 harddisk 20 GB (surprisingly fast notebook disk)
- QSI DVD-ROM SDR-081
- RealTek RTL8139 NIC
- Creatix V.90 HAM Data Fax Modem (internal combined with above)
- Compaq WL110 Wireless PC Card (WLAN 11 Mbit, Lucent chipset)
I want to build another computer, but i need a K6 / K62 300 MHz CPU for super socket 7 (anyone got one? mail me!)
